Mark is joined by Jeremy Hastings who is the founder of Hutly, which he launched in 2018, an Australian-based technology company that uses blockchain technology to connect people in property at the time of a real estate contract. Hutly now services over 47 percent of the East Coast property market with 4000 agencies on the platform, 1 million contracts processed per annum, and approximately $18 billion of contract value per annum on platform.
Inspired by the injustice his family endured growing up as one of four children of a hard working single mum, who had little choice but to move the family many times due to ongoing rent rises, Jeremy felt it was his life’s mission to find a better way to transact property. Later in life Jeremy then had an unsavoury experience with a real estate agent who subsequently served time for trust fraud, Jeremy’s purpose was cemented.
Jeremy sought to leverage technology to power a more positive, transparent, and human centred real estate industry. Hutly’s objective is to connect people in property to make them more productive and successful.
